I did manage to finish off a comission (last night) and I've email pics to the client to see if she likes her (fingers are crossed)

Went to the show yesterday. Got up at 4.30am to get there, boy was I tired at the end of the day!!

How did it go? Well sold 7, 5 have gone to a shop in Scotland, the man who bought them thinks they will go well in his store - woohooo.

Lots of people took my cards and I'm now getting orders through that - emails already!! woohoo

I know do I sound like a happy camper?? Cause I certainly feel like one rofl.

Oh my gosh I know time could fly, guess I didn't realise how fast!! I have 27 dolls completed and ready to go. Dived down to Aberkhan on Friday (just got there as they were closing) to buy the fabric for the table itself *phew*. Got enough business cards (500), postcards and fridgemagnet business cards. All my COA's are done - if there is anything I've forgotten at this stage then panic mode here I come rofl.

My Exhibitor passes arrived in the post this week, so I guess this means I'm really going to do this!! - not sure whether I'm more nervous or excited - think I'll go with scared!

I've been up since 5am (took hubby to work) so I decided instead of going back to bed I would finish the last little bits off....... and she's done.

Please meet the Black Widow Fairy. She is my first Obitsu doll and I can't say she'll be my last, only next time I'm going to buy one with hair already attached!.

I've just got back from the dentist and he decided to go in for the 'kill' straight away and do my front teeth. 3 injections right up front - I can't say ouch loud enough!!

so now I'm sitting here feeling like goofy, I'd forgotten what it felt like to have proper front teeth - I might actually start smiling now (you know properly). My nose is still numb and I've got a fat top lip............ but life is good I found one of the kids Christmas straws so I can drink my coffee :oD

Fabrics I'll be working with:

I only found white crinkly material in my stash so I dyed it with coffee to give it a brown tint.
The underneath is made up of 7 panels, chenille stems are sewn along the seams and around the edge.
I've attached it to a 'post' with a staple gun and *lots* of staples:

I'll start working on the top tomorrow when I've worked out how to do it in my head overnight.

Ok even with everything going on (and there has been loads) I managed to get the mermaid done (off to think of a name, not sure why I keep on making dolls before I've thought of the name but hey ho)

I've been so hoping for dolly time - and just not getting it, I'm getting down to the crunch now, just 50 days left before the fair and I still haven't done enough dolls!

But somehow I got another job. Ok we have a crossing guard (lollipop lady) by the kids schools and she hasn't been there for a while - now it must be something really bad for her not to be there as she treats the kids like they are her own. So after doing the usual thing of moaning and wondering where she is - I rang up the council - so now I'm covering for her until she can come back! and boy I hope it's fast lol. Don't get me wrong it's fun and I'm glad the kids have a safe place to cross but cars just don't want to stop and you take your life into your own hands doing the job!!

I just hope that the really lollipop lady will take the time out she needs and doesn't stress anymore about her 'kids' crossing the road without her.

Ok so I'm not quite sure what happened in the last 2/3 weeks - that's a lie yes I do - toothache, death, funeral family and it hitting the fan (it hasn't hit high speed yet but it may do lol) All of this has kept me away from dolling but today I managed to finish 2 dolls that have been giving me funny looks - you know the kind.
Here's the first 2 of the elementals - they were going to be angels then fairy's but now they are just elemental (mental being the word lol)

ok I got the idea for this one last year (maybe the year before) anyway I got her sketched down and was trying to work out how to make her in cloth......... never did lol

I made a base for her - wanted to show her asleep on a cloud, but don't think I like the base now - well it needs some work for me to be happy with it but here she is:

Finished her - I got feathers everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE!!! looks like someone tarred and feathered me and the house rofl.

.....so here's a DIP.

Started this one the other week but she's just been stood there with her face painted and no hair waiting (not so patiently) for me to 'get to work'. Well last night I did.
Before I show you where she's up to, I'll tell you where the inspiration came from and then she'll make more sense to you........

Flicking through the channels the other week I came across a re-run of 'Buck Rogers in the 25th century', well there stood Buck and his best friend Hawk - you remember the one, the one with a feathery head/hair and I thought cool wonder if I could make a female version well............

Ok so they're not hawk feathers, they are pheasant feathers and she doesn't have a name yet (yes yet another one lol)
Oh and I got a blast of inspiration last night for my next doll (well next 4) elemental angels - only today after speaking to Tanya they are going to be elemental fairies not angels.

Well it was relatively quiet, 4 calls in 5 hours. Luckily I'd done all the prep work for one doll and I managed to get her finished woohoo. She's called 'Leparchi'

5 faces painted, 4 mounted on their bases. The other three are just going to have to wait for now.

Ok so here's what I've got planned for 3 of them.....
One is going to be kind of a Tatiana (fairy)
one is a female version of Hawk - Buck Rogers friend and the last one is going to have an animal theme - all her spots have been painted on.

Phew 3pm, nearly time to cook the kids tea and start work - if it's a quiet night I get to carry on with the dolls

It's 7.30 (AM!!!) and I've been up since 5. Taken hubby to work the kids to Mickey D's for breakfast and now I'm going to start playing dolls.
I had considered going back to bed as I'm working til 11pm but I've got 8 dolls, faces stripped mind melding with me telling me to 'get them done'. So who am I to argue lol

Woohoo it's Saturday and hubby is home. No dollies for me today, we're off to the cinema as a family (the first time ever) to go and watch the movie 'Cars'.

We haven't told the kids yet - thought we'd surprise them. So far so good. It's not often I can surprise them lol

It's a blustery day in North Wales today which must be why this doll came together quite easily (yeh right lol)
She's only had a partial repaint, I liked her eyes so much I didn't want to change them so I didn't.

Fair I'm doing is a collector fair and there will be everything there from dolls, bears to model trains.

Here's a bit more of her, right now she's going to be called 'Tiaan'. You'd have thought I'd have her finished by now but no such luck.

Kind of thinking the base needs to be painted black and she needs some cool black wings. Was thinking of putting a panel of beads down the front of her skirt but I don't know think it would make her look too heavy

On a more scarey (for me) I booked my table for the collector fair in November - now I really have to get myself jivvied up.
